When Pocoto first came home, there wasn’t a soul in the room who thought he’d ever make the derby. No one, that is, except Billy.

Billy liked to smell magic markers and ate too much sugar. He’d eaten horse meat once at a restaurant started by a former knackerhouse owner and he liked it. But one look at those teeth, and Billy melted.

So Billy was counting on the Derby prize to help pay for a new set of choppers. Maybe then Suzie Gray would look his way. Only he’d been too busy courting underwear models then. Hah.
