Let me tell you something, those annoying humans that like to play bird watcher with me can get lost. I don’t go around looking for them, now do I? Oh sure, I admit I have a bit of pride that they come looking for me and so they can admire how vibrant these feathers of mine are, but after a while it gets old, not to mention a bit unseemly. I ain’t no peep show!
No more having to worry about large predators either. Those owls think they’re so wise? They think they’re so smart and brainy. Got it all figured that I’m easy prey. Well let’s see them try to hunt me down for food when they can’t tell me from a nice summertime sunset!
No more edge for those stupid hawks either. I guess in late fall, when the leaves start to change, they might have a slight edge, but that’s where my natural red coloring should help. I suppose they might also have an edge when winter time rolls around, seeing as all the trees lose their leaves. Okay, so there are certain advantages to not having gotten the tattoos as well, but I think it was great idea overall.
Sure, I liked my nice, bright plumage, but a bird’s gotta do what a bird’s gotta do. In fact, I would have gotten these tattoos even if I didn’t need to make sure I don’t get chomped or stalked! You know why? I was hatched this way, and no one can fit me into their mold! This bird is loose cannon from now on! Heck, I might even get some ink on the beak as well. That’d be pretty sweet, you think?
Keep this t shirt on if: You like to stick out in a crowd, but in cool, ‘too hip for you’ kind of a way.
