Make sure you double check that people put the right directions. Don’t want people gettin’ lost in our hood. Oh, and remember, all spellin’ errors need to be gone before morning, tidy up punctuation if you can, but don’t get too risky. We don’t want the cops catching you fixing them. How awkward would that be to explain?
“Yeah, that’d be odd bro, but speaking of explaining, I don’t get why we—“
“Not now Marker, I’ve got to give Pencil his stuff to do tonight. Bro, I thought I told you to chill with the guns before we go out on a job.”
“What was that? You sayin’ somethin’ ta me boss?”
“Yeah you I’m talkin’ to you Pencil-neck. Put down those guns for a second listen up: you’ve gots the sneakiest job of all, and Eraser there will be your look out. Eraser, lay off the booze for a second and listen up”
“Sure bro, what is it? Maybe draw mustaches on billboards? Or are we doodling in corners of notebooks? I know! You want us to go to Mr. Pen and his little gang and show them who’s really running this town, right home-slice?”
“Nah, I got something better for you guys. I need you to go through all the math homework over at the school. Get rid of the smudges and make sure all those problems are correct. Eraser, if you see any spots or doodles on the school desks while Pencil is doing his thing I need you to rub them out. Remember boys, don’t let anyone get in your way tonight. As for me, I’m go to the teacher’s houses and touch up some spots from hail damage.”
“Spraycan, I mean boss, uh…I have something to say.”
“What is it Pencil? You run out of ammo again for your guns? I keep telling you, if you just fire them in the air like that you waste your bullets.”
“It’s not about the guns boss. See, thing is, me and the other boys have been talking, and we ain’t too sure about the direction we been takin’ lately.”
“What you mean by that pencil?”
“Well, I mean…here’s the thing bro. We liked the idea of growing mustaches to help us look both cooler and a bit more threatening. So, it’s not like we don’t like your ideas boss. It’s just that some of them seem a little…well…nice.”
“What you talkin’ about?”
“Like tonight for example. You got us fixin’ things and repairin’ stuff, but you don’t got us robbing anywheres. Why not? In fact, we ain’t robbed a place in two weeks. What we’ve been doing is a lot of this cleaning up stuff. It just ain’t right boss. It just ain’t right.”
“Of course we’re fixing up people’s places! We got to confuse’em a bit. Make’em wonder what’s going on, who’s doing the good deeds and such. And then—“
“Then we hit them in the confusion and take their stuff? I think it could work. Okay boss, I got you.”
“No stupid, you don’t got me. Once they are all upset and not sure of what to do because of all the nice things happening to them, we spring in and take credit. SHABOOM! Just sweep in and take those compliments.”
“Uh, not so sure about that one bro. Why would we want that, why not just the money?”
“Look, just stick with me on this at least until after the big orphanage clean up job. Other gangs will hear about that job and be lookin’ at us in a whole new way.”
“SIGH…I’m sure they will bro. I’m sure they will.”
