their children? Perhaps if you are not yet moved to action, it would help to hear a personal tale.
Take for example our brother mole Franklin here. One day, as he was simply minding his own business by sticking his head out his hole, do you know what happened? A child no older than five bopped him on the head with a toy hammer and knocked him senseless! Thankfully it was only a mild concussion, but such violence from a child is frightening, yet not unexpected, sad to say. Doubtless the child in question is only one of many who have heard the propaganda about our rodent nature.
It would likely not be too farfetched an assumption to make that this same child was witness to the brutality that befalls our electronic counterparts in some local arcade! Quite likely the child even thought he would get tickets or some sort of prize for his abusive efforts!
To the humans it is merely a game; to us we see it for what it is! A tool, a masterwork of anti-mole propaganda! Never mind those who say that it is “all in fun,” forget those who would belittle us and say that we are over-reacting. I stand on this platform today to let you know how deeply I am offended at the whack-a-mole game and how you should be offended too!
Did I say offended? Nay! It is not strong enough a word! Whether real or electronic, every digging mammal should feel outraged at what has been laughingly called “a game.” Would they call it a game if we were to dig under their homes to see how many pipes we could break? Perhaps it is time we found out just how the humans would feel if we were to tunnel under those precious flowerbeds they plant!
The time has come for us to rise up, not sink down! If the whacking does not stop, we shall avenge ourselves upon our hammer-wielding oppressors! No bit of plumbing will be safe, many a plant root shall tremble! It is we, the moles of the world who will stand up against the oppressors! You ask me why I stand on this soapbox today? I tell you it is not merely out of offense, but out of a need to pop up and answer the call! Today, we moles hammer back!
